Anime/Manga: Rurouni Kenshin (based on a historical samurai)
Materials used: The Haori/overcoat was sewn from turquoise cotton. I followed Billy Matsunaga’s kimono making tutorial with some modifications. The white cotton triangles on the sleeves were sewn on afterwards. The hachimaki/headband was made from white cotton and metallic fabric. Katana, Hakama, and black kimono underneath not made by me.
Fun facts: Rurouni Kenshin was my first anime ever, but I always debated who to cosplay from it. I settled on Saito in part due to loving his Shinsengumi robes, and finding him an interesting moral counterpoint to both Kenshin and Shishio.
